Royal Air Force To Get X-Wing Style Helmets

"Luke, you switched off your targeting computer. What's wrong?"

The British Ministry of Defense has revealed that RAF fighter pilots are being outfitted with X-Wing styled helmets for the F35 Joint Strike Fighter, their lauded next-gen jet fighter.

A headsup display inside the pilot's visor will display targeting and navigational data. Precision head tracking software will convey infra-red images of the ground right in front of their eyes.

Slick.

Hmmm, I don't quite see the resemblance to an X-Wing helmet. My first thought was that is was a python eating a golden egg...but then again my eyesight is terrible.

Of course, the full HUD sounds bad ass.
