NEW TENACIOUS D ALBUM?!

Yeah I don't think he has to worry about it. Many people have put out Star Wars songs in the past like that and I doubt GL would care at this point, granted I doubt any would be as high profile as the D though. I think the closest would be New Hope by Blink 182 off of Dude Ranch, but that was before the band got mega huge.

GL is obviously not as protective about his property as far as stuff like this goes any more otherwise we never would have had the Robot Chicken or Family Guy specials.

I don't think GL will sue him. I mean JB prob did ask his permission and said that jokingly

I doubt he has anything to fear, I mean if Kevin Smith didn't get sued for Cock Knocker and the double bladed Bong....I doubt he'll pick on Jack.

Yeah but Mark Hamil was actually in that movie.

I think GL knows how beloved JB is by SW fans though. Also, look at Weird Al's stuff

Does anyone remember if that rapper who called himself Luke Skyywalker ever got sued?

Yeah but Weird Al is different. He asks for permission for EVERYTHING before he does a song. Not all artists do that since especially with comedic artists they ARE somewhat protected from retaliation.

The first few Robot Chicken SW shorts were not sanctioned, but Lucas loved them enough to the point that the SW Special happened. Unless Death Star ends up derogatory I don't think the D has too much to worry about.
