Eh, looks like I'll be buying a ticket and walking out after the trailer, just like I did for TPM/Meet Joe Black in '99, lol.

Maybe it's a generational thing...but I SO don't get going to to a movie just to see a trailer. Especially a trailer for a movie I actually want to see, I don't want to see bits of it ahead of time, to me that's like reading parts of the end of a book before I sit down to read it.

But I don't like Speedracer either so I guess it's not a problem for me. LOL

I love spoilers, in fact I don't consider them spoilers because the word has no meaning to me since stories don't get spoiled, they get experienced (I read a leaked version of the TPM script before I saw the film, for example). Trailers are often better than the films they exist to advertise, and so I enjoy them in their own right, and in the case of a Brad Pitt love story like Meet Joe Black, or a kid flick like Speed Racer, I have absolutely no interest in seeing that kind of film, but I would very much like to see SW trailers on the big screen, certainly enough to pay seven bucks for the privilege.

I don't enjoy being surprised, I think its way overrated, and since my enjoyment of films like SW goes up the more I watch, the first viewing is always going to be the least enjoyable, particularly if I'm blindsided by a bunch of stuff that I didn't expect. If something kicks ass (in a trailer, or whatever), then I want to see as much of it as possible, as early as possible.
