CAndyman Comment 1 Kick Gammorean AXE! I can't wait to see this!
Thanks for the juicey teaser there Chief! JediJef Comment 2 Nicely done sir, good to see SWAC out there getting the first scoop. Also good to see that it doesn't suck. I remain skeptical about no John Williams music however. Is the main theme present at all?
iam118 Comment 3 Isn't Ashoka's nickname "Snips"?
I'm really interested in seeing how the movie stacks up to the book, which I have really enjoyed so far. I am seriously loving Captian Rex so far and his relationship with the Jedi. I hope a good portion of that characterization is really evident in the film and isn't just the brainchild of Karen Traviss. I'm about 1/2 way throught the novel and really enjoying it so far. DarthDan Comment 5 My bad, yeah "Snips".
/corrected DarthDan Comment 6 It was also strange to see David Filoni get top credit in blue text against the space backdrop instead of George Lucas.

DarthDan Comment 8 To my recollection, the main theme never plays in full, not even at the beginning. There are pieces of it and the Skywalker theme, but that's about where it begins and ends. Musically, this is Kiner's shindig.
RebelFox Comment 9 hrmm. Just might enjoy it.
Angyll Comment 10 Sounds cool! may even somehow manage to get my kids to it
Brindan Call Comment 11 hrmmm, maybe this won't be as bad as I was expecting... My first thoughts where "Ani has an apprentice, but wasn't a Master? WTF!?" and, "Oh boy, here we go with another of Lucas' attempts to cater to kids instead of his die-hard 30-40 year old fans who grew up with SW."
4 Sabers though, not given lightly... "You had better be right about this Lord Vader, I'm taking an awful risk." =P CAndyman Comment 12 I don't know how much contrast there is between the Novel and the Feature, but I'm really enjoying the hell out of the Novel! And as much as I didn't want to, I really began to like Ahsoka, and Rex is just a BadASS!
JediJef Comment 13 Traviss hasn't written a bad book yet. She could even make Episode I kick holy ass.
DarthDan Comment 14 Well, the books are always going to have more meat and detail to them, especially with a kickass author at the helm like Traviss, so you're probably going to enjoy the book more than the film. At least, that would be my guess.
Also, I went into this film with probably the lowest possible expectations for a fan. Yeah, I really liked Ahsoka. She worked very well for me and I was really impressed with how well-balanced she was. The script wasn't afraid to show her taking a private moment to doubt herself, being in compromising situations, or being overwhelmed by the enemy on more than one occassion while in other scenes showing her to be a very capable Jedi, sometimes even one-upping her mentor. I was so afraid that this was going to be way imbalanced to force the character down people's throats. I see Rex easily becoming the fan favorite of the series. He's just an ancilliary character in the film, but I'm sure he'll get more regular time, and possibly the occasional spotlight in the series. He definitely kicks ass. CAndyman Comment 15 I just finished the book moments ago and I was pretty pleased overall, it left me wanting more but I believe that there is more on the horizon. If I remember correctly Karen and Kathy were going to switch off writing installments for this. Now the bitter pill...the wait.
But the characters are well written and engaging and the story is a lot of fun, I definitely recommend it. JediJef Comment 16 You should check out her Republic Commando series if you enjoyed Clone Wars. Its more of the same, only longer and of even higher quality storytelling.

and don't worry about the Band of Brothers things we were promised awesome Clone only episodes like Commandos on Black Op missions Morden 'Kei Comment 19 "Ani has an apprentice, but wasn't a Master? WTF!?""
gotta successfully train an apprentice. Who says he does? who says she doesn't die? nobody knows |
